Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, men and women on all sides have been trying to stay out of the war. Thousands of people are fleeing the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine to avoid being forcibly conscripted into the war. We believe that the most direct way to end war is to refuse to take part in it. Supporting deserters is a moral obligation and a collective political campaign not to collaborate with militarism.

In June 2022, 60 organisations from 20 countries sent an appeal to the European Parliament, outlining why it is necessary and right to protect and support deserters and conscientious objectors on all sides of the war in Ukraine. There have already been discussions about this in the European Parliament. With your signature you will help to give this call the necessary weight. We want to hand over the signatures at a major joint event in May 2023 in Brussels.
