Today, members of the #BancaArmada campaign held a demonstration in Valencia, outside the Palacio de Congresos, to protest against the CaixaBank shareholders’ meeting.
Between 2022 and 2025, Spain’s leading banks have financed and maintained significant investments in arms companies. These companies have supplied weapons to countries at war, including those illegally occupying territories, to governments that systematically violate human rights, and even to those committing genocide.
Between 2022 and 2024, CaixaBank invested €4.8 billion in arms companies such as: Airbus, Indra, Navantia, EMA, Aernnova, Sidenor and Boeing.
CaixaBank is the 4th largest Spanish bank in terms of arms financing and ranks 91st internationally.
The arms companies financed by CaixaBank are on the list, compiled by various United Nations bodies, of entities operating in the illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
3 OUT OF EVERY 4 WEAPONS WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT BANK MONEY.
